On Wednesday evening, the Lord-Lieutenant of Nottinghamshire, Veronica Pickering, hosted a special event to present a number of Deputy Lieutenants with their Commission on behalf of the Monarch: Nora Senior CBE, Sir Andrew Pulford, Sandeep Mahal, Liz Barret OBE, Richard Bond, and David Tilly.
The event, held at Nottingham Trent University, featured a warm welcome by the Seaforth Highlanders, who piped the Lord-Lieutenant into the venue. Guests were treated to performances by the Nottingham Military Wives Choir and the Inspire Broxtowe Swing Band.
During the event, the Lord-Lieutenant reaffirmed Nottinghamshire’s commitment to His Majesty's Priorities and emphasised the importance of supporting the King's ambitions across the county. This occasion marked a significant moment for the Lieutenancy, as it was the first gathering under the leadership of Veronica Pickering and Nora Senior, who now serves as Vice Lord Lieutenant.
All members of the Lieutenancy serve on a voluntary basis, without receiving any expenses.
